Right now, I'm comparing five of the POD publishers in preparation for my own novel, which is about three fourths done. Four are highly recommended, and the fifth, CreateSpace, is rated pretty good. The other four I'm looking at are Booklocker.com,
wastelandpress.net (this one really looks great as far as what you get for your money), infinitypublishing.com (which is more a vanity publisher than POD) and dogearpublishing.net.
What's interesting is that the BIG NAMES like IUniverse, Xlibris, Lulu, Author House, etc. are rated low.
You can't go wrong consulting Mark Levine's book. It's always buyer beware, so do your research.
By the way, I've just learned that Writer's Digest's Abbott Press is being managed by Author House now, and their prices and upselling practices look like the other companies under Author House. Do we writers look like easy pickings or what?
